Application requirements of color masterbatch in tape casting film field

From the perspective of application, the properties that must be paid attention to when masterbatch is applied to tape casting film include heat resistance, composite strength, dispersion, migration resistance, light resistance, etc.
1. Heat resistance
The tape casting process requires that the resin melt has good fluidity. Generally, the processing temperature is relatively high. According to the size of the extruded resin and equipment, especially the tape casting width, the high temperature can reach about 300 ℃. Therefore, the pigment used in the tape casting process must have good heat resistance.
2. Composite strength
In the extrusion composite process, after the resin is melted at high temperature, plasticized, mixed, quantitatively extruded from the T-shaped die, and cast at constant pressure, the film formed is directly combined with another film to form a composite material. Special attention should be paid to the formulation design of masterbatch wetting agent, the control of wetting dosage, and the selection of carrier resin.
3. Dispersibility
Generally, the cast film is relatively thin, especially the coloring layer of the multilayer co extrusion cast film is thinner. In order to reflect a certain color depth and brightness on such a thin color layer, the only way is to increase the amount of pigment added, which requires that the color masterbatch must have a good dispersion, so as to ensure smooth processing and good product quality.
4. Migration resistance
From the perspective of production, the requirement of no migration of pigments is to ensure that there is no mutual contamination between products and between products and equipment; From the perspective of product application, as a general packaging material, it is a basic requirement that there is no pollution to the packaged material, so it is required that the color masterbatch has migration resistance.
5. Lightfastness
If cast film/coating products are used outdoors (tarpaulin, sunshade, fence color strip cloth, etc.), the light resistance of color masterbatch products must be selected according to the actual use requirements of the products.
