The importance of carbon black in black masterbatch
Industry News, 09-27-2018
There are many kinds of color masterbatch. You just need to choose the color you want. For black products, carbon black is very important. Next, the importance of carbon black will be introduced:
1. Blackness and particle size
The blackness is directly related to the particle size of the pigment carbon black. The smaller the particle size is, the higher the blackness of the pigment carbon black is. This is because although the primary particles have fused into the primary aggregates, their specific surface area can still play a role. The smaller the primary particles, the larger the surface area of the aggregates. The color is darker and the anti ultraviolet effect is better. As the absorption rate of fine particle carbon black is higher than that of coarse particle carbon black, the coloring force is stronger. However, when the particle size is reduced, the blue light is absorbed first due to optimization, so the hue becomes brown.
2. Structure
Carbon black particles not only exist in the form of primary particles, but also are often fused to form aggregates in the production process. This kind of condensate is composed of primary particles bound by chemical bonds. In the agglomerate, the carbon black composed of a large number of primary agglomerates of chain branches is called high structure carbon black. The primary agglomerate is carbon black composed of fewer primary particles with higher density, which is called low structure carbon black.
In a word, the importance of carbon black in black masterbatch should be said to be relatively wide. It can increase the blackness, so that coloring can have many effects. In a word, the importance of carbon black is self-evident.
