The production process of color masterbatch is very strict, and the wet process is generally adopted. The color master batch is made by water phase grinding, phase inversion, water washing, drying and granulation. Only in this way can the product quality be guaranteed.
In addition, a series of tests should also be carried out when the pigment is grinded, such as measuring the fineness of the sanding slurry, measuring the diffusion property of the sanding slurry, measuring the solid content of the sanding slurry, and measuring the fineness of the color slurry.
Now let's ask the manufacturer of color masterbatch to tell you that there are four methods for the production process of color masterbatch:
1. Ink method
As the name implies, it is the production method of using ink paste in the production of masterbatch, that is, coating a layer of low molecular protection layer on the pigment surface through three roller grinding. The ground fine color paste is mixed with the carrier resin, and then plasticized by a two roll plastic mill (also called a double roll open mill), and then granulated by a single screw or twin screw extruder.
2. Flushing method
It is the pigment, water and dispersant that make the pigment particles smaller than 1 mu through sand grinding; m. Through the phase transfer method, the pigment is transferred into the oil phase, and then dried to obtain the color masterbatch. Organic solvent and corresponding solvent recovery device are required for phase inversion.
3. Kneading method
After the pigment and oily carrier are mixed, the pigment is rinsed from the water phase to the oil phase through kneading, taking advantage of its lipophilicity. At the same time, the surface of the pigment is coated by the oily carrier, which makes the pigment disperse stably and prevents the pigment from agglomeration.
4. Metal soap method
The particle size of pigment after grinding reaches 1 mu; M, and add soap solution at a certain temperature, so that the surface layer of each pigment particle is evenly wetted by the soap solution to form a layer of saponified solution. When the metal salt solution is added, it reacts with the saponified layer on the pigment surface to form a protective layer of metal soap (magnesium stearate), so that the finely ground pigment particles will not cause flocculation, but protect a certain fineness.
