Wires and cables include communication cables, power cables, insulated wires, etc. According to the application characteristics of wires and cables and the requirements of molding process for color masterbatch, the following characteristics are available.

1. Color. The standard color and error value of various cables in the wire and cable industry must comply with certain standards, which is a very important indicator.
2. Electric energy. In order to ensure the stable and normal use of wires and cables, the masterbatch used shall maintain the conductivity of plastic coating materials.
3. Heat resistance. When the wire and cable masterbatch is used in the molding process, it must be temperature resistant and not discolored. It must pass the temperature resistance test and the test of temperature and environment in actual application. According to the different resin applications, the temperature applied to PVC resin is lower, and the temperature applied to HDPE and LDPE resin is higher. Generally, the temperature resistance should reach 170-220 ℃.
4. Dispersion. the insulation layer of wires and cables is very thin, the extrusion speed is very fast, the quality requirements are high, and the dispersion requirements for color masterbatch are also very high. If the dispersion of color masterbatch in the extruded insulation layer is not good, the colored spots will cause sparks when used, which will be a great potential stability hazard.
5. Impurity content. If wire and cable masterbatch contains some salts and metal particles, it may cause breakdown of wires and cables when used after being made into wires and cables, so it is necessary to control the mixing of these impurities, especially conductive impurities.
6. Migration resistance. good migration resistance, so that the colors between the wires and cables will not migrate and stain each other, will not reduce the recognition of the cables due to color problems, and certainly will not cause problems for installation and use.
7. Stability. Metals, halogens and other chemical components in wire and cable masterbatch are controlled by limits, especially in electronic and electrical applications.
